Ghosts of imprints, observations of surroundings, and direct human engagements - as a visual collage of six artists’ immortalization of fleeting moments, interactions, and temporary scenes, Illegitimi non Carborundum is an invitation to step into an intimate space, and experience a dialogue expressed by the subject. From the humor of Celeste Compton’s Duck Hunt and Tom Curcuruto’s Clothes for All Occasions, the privacy of Damian Suarez’s Untitled, Ecuador, to the remembrance of Anthony Dominiczak’s 29f34, Illegitimi non Carborundum forever ingrains man made and natural creations, stills the seconds of time that have otherwise passed, and gives recognition to the face that no longer belongs to a stranger. Illegitimi non Carborundum is about the appreciation of perspectives that make the daily grind seem less humdrum.

isla uvita - liberación de tortuga!

so during my time in costa rica last year, i met a really great guy, Randall, who works as a kind of marine biologist. he's been working on rehabilitating sea turtles, and even had two baby sea turtles to rehabilitate right before i left. unfortunately, i lost all good photos of the turtles and of randall, honorio, abraham, and the crew of animals, but fate somehow smiled upon me, and today i was sent an email from Randall!

If you are in Costa Rica, or plan on being there during August 31st, at Isla Uvita, there looks to be an event of releasing some of the sea turtles back out into the world. Here are some of the photos of the turtles that were sent to me, and I hope that if anyone that reads this can make it, please do. I've never been to a more amazing place in the entire world, nor have I ever met such amazing people in my entire life.
