mike's menorah

part of the garland that's wrapped around the stair handle inside our house

oh christmas tree oh christmas tree!

my dog looking awesome on christmas day

the view from my sister's apartment, and some weird ass sign that points to nowhere

part of the awesome presents reid gave me, ahh they're both so cool!!

reid, dave brown, justine, and i saw juno, and it was amaaazing! you must see it! the cast is perfect, the characters are perfectly set up and developed, the soundtrack fits so damn well, plus there's a kimya dawson cover by michael cera and ellen page, and there's a perfect blend of comedy, style, and drama. awesome. it's nice to see that there are still good movies coming out. which reminds me, don't see the golden compass, just read the damn book.

and finally!

part of a present my g-ma gave me haha, it's an amazing sea turtle with bling.

and that was a smidge of my awesome amazing fantastic holiday season. i am a happy and spoiled girl.

So I finally uploaded "Hypnagogia" to YouTube last night, the quality is a bit pixelated but I will get a more solid version on my website at a later date.

I titled it Hypnagogia after the sleeping state.
There are 8 hypnagogic stages. This state can occur between the sleep-wake cycle, with vivid hallucinations, falling sensations, and auditory sensations that are not really recognizable, "normal" sounds. People can also appear to be fully awake, even though their brain waves are still asleep. This is also the period when people have sleep terrors, sleepwalk, and/or take part in lucid dreaming.

"Coelum non animum mutant qui trans mare currunt."-Horace
translation -
Those who hurry cross the sea only change the sky upon them,
not their souls or state of minds.

A stork once got into an argument with his wife and he pecked out her eye with his beak. The stork was ashamed that he had done her such a great injury, so he flew off into another land. The crow ran into him and asked the reason for his journey. The stork said that he had pecked out his wife's eye with his beak. The crow replied: "Don't you still have the same beak?" The stork said yes. The crow then said: "So why are you running away, since, wherever you go, you carry your beak with you?" This is true also for those who commit many sins and who run away into another land or into a monastery. They nevertheless always carry with them their beak, their wickedness, their means of sinning, the Devil contained inside them. They change the sky, not their state of mind. [...]

"In necessariis unitas, in dubiis libertas, in omnibus caritas."

"in necessary things unity, in doubtful things liberty, in all things charity"

Palindrome about moths.
"in girum imus nocte et consumimur igni"
translation -
"We enter the circle at night and are consumed by fire"

p.s. the parade was great. thank you to everyone who came up, had fun, and lent a helping hand. it means a lot, and couldn't have happened without yous. i will post pics up soon.

"TV Links, a Web site that provided links to hundreds of movies, documentaries, TV shows and cartoons hosted on streaming media sites such as Google Video and YouTube, has been raided by UK authorities. The site's operator was also arrested, The Guardian reports. Even though the site has not hosted any pirated content, it was a thorn in the side of movie and TV studios, thanks to having links to newest movies and TV shows. As the largest site of its kind, it showcased the power of user-driven Internet, with the site's visitors helping to keep links to content constantly updated."

new news!!!

life is a-changing !!!
this year is my last year, everyone's all moving. even sanctuary, which indeed, became a sanctuary.

in other news -
i kicked ass in PARCHEESI as the CAMEL. eat that reyrey, faeli, and colin BOOYAH!

speaking of camels, a 60-year-old woman from Queensland, Australia, was killed by her exotic pet camel who sat on her while trying to get laaaaid. he was also her 60th birthday present.

you can further read the hysterics here:

and finally, for those who love Supergrass, their bassist Mick Quinn just broke his back sleepwalking off the first floor window in Oxford, England. OUCH!

oh, and Screaming Females was fucking AWESOME in washington d.c. on the way home, we found Swervy, the gentle truckdriver swerving all over the road at about 4 am. hott. <3 to marissa, jarrett, mike, jacki, reid, colin, nat, and lny.

and on that note.. <33

oh yeah :D,31fischer,77420,3.html?pic=8&total=15

some more pics of us i found on the village voice and moma, hollaaa!

oh, and something a little confounding - i've been reading a lot of music reviews, and i have to wonder, why is the introduction to all bands always written in this formula :
"kind of sounds like a cross of BAND A meets BAND B with a splash of BAND C and a dash of BAND D if they had a bad hair day"?

cuz it usually doesn't sound like it anyway. and i don't even really understand what that means. :\
